Shell Petroleum should fast track development in host communities – Bayelsa Govt

Bayelsa Government has urged the management of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) to invest in peace building in their host communities, to fast-track development of the state.

Mr Felix Ayah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Oil and Gas, gave the advice on Thursday, when the executive members of the Gbarain/Ekpetiama Cluster Development Board (CDB) paid him a courtesy visit in Yenagoa.

He also urged the SPDC to step up plans on the payment of top-ups and administrative fund due to the Gbarain/Ekpetiama Cluster Development Board.

Ayah said the reason for the meeting with the CDB was to settle issues and series of petitions against the members for non-performance.

He urged SPDC to tidy up plans for the payment and disbursement of fund due to the Cluster.
